OPENINDEX.

Open an index on a file ready for examination.

Syntax:

OPENINDEX filename,indexname TO index.var {SETTING errval} THEN|ELSE ….

Description:

The OPENINDEX statement is used to open a particular index definition for a particular file. This index definition can later be used with the SELECT statement.

Examples of using OPENINDEX exist in the READNEXT, READPREV and SELECT descriptions.
